The core of the Critter Cooler Dog Water Dispenser is the base unit. The front part is the water bowl and the rear holds the container. Designed by an engineer who builds extension bridges, it is strong and light. You need to be a bit of a geek to appreciate the design of the base unit but it takes about 1200 PSI for your dog to puncture the bowl. We have had some goats chew on it but it generally survives most animals.
Our Automatic Dog Water Bowl needs good lid o-rings to function properly. These Dog Waterers will last for years, but the large lid o-ring will need to be replaced. They work best and last longer when lubricated. We suggest a non-petroleum jelly..

Automatic Dog Water Bowl Plugs
So your pooch likes to chew on these, does he? Must be great sport for him/her. You can try to insert these from the bottom up, that may fool some, not all.
Alba Un-Petrolium Jelly
Our favorite non-petroleum jelly to lube the large lid o-rings.
